INTERNATIONAL E-COMMERCE EVENT IS HUGE SUCCESS
Snow Valley's International E-commerce event, which took place last week, was a huge success.
Over 50 delegates from various leading retail organisations attended to hear from an expert line-up of speakers.
Steve Borges from retail consultancy Biglight kicked the day off with an overview of the strategic considerations that retailers need to be aware of. This was followed by presentations from leading law firm Pinsent Masons on global e-commerce law, Deloitte on international e-commerce tax, and Datacash on international payment methods. Fulfilment expert Colum Joyce then discussed delivery options, with Snow Valley’s own Jill Culbertson providing an overview of the online marketing challenges, with support from TradeDoubler and Kelkoo.
As well as the theory, the event included a warts-and-all account of international retailing from Peter Higgins, co-founder of Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts. Peter gave an honest and very funny talk about the challenges they had faced when they targeted Japan, Germany, France and the US. This included everything from payment differences in Germany to translation difficulties in France and different clothing sizes in Japan.
We’d like to thank all of the speakers and delegates that attended the event and made it so successful.
