Case study GAME
GAME is Europe's leading specialist retailer of computer software and video games, operating from over 600 stores, concessions and franchises.
The Challenge
With their crucial trading period of Christmas approaching, GAME wanted to improve the way that they fulfilled their online orders. Their warehouse had been set up to organise pallets of stock, not to handle the pick, pack and despatch of single items to individual customers, and this was hampering their operation. They asked Snow Valley to deliver a bespoke solution that could link their existing website to their warehouse system.
The Solution
Snow Valley delivered an order processing solution that could achieve three key aims.
Firstly, it improved the transparency of GAME's online order fulfilment process by ensuring that orders fed straight from website to warehouse. This has ensured that staff can track the progress of an order at all times, making amendments or cancelling orders altogether.
Secondly, orders are now screened for fraud both before payment authorisation and again post-authorisation. The solution offers great flexibility, allowing GAME to set fraud-screening rules according to their preference.
The solution also offers improved courier management, allowing orders to be allocated to a carrier depending on value or product type.
The Result
The solution has provided a number of benefits to GAME during their most important trading season. Customer service has been greatly improved, as order fulfilment is faster, and staff can answer queries with greater ease and accuracy. Fraud management has become easier and much less expensive, as less manual administration is involved.
